It's a boy! Isn't he so cute? We had our appointment yesterday, we're just about 17 weeks. I'm going to post a pregnancy pic soon as i am definitely showing. We not only found out the sex for certain, but we saw that he is healthy. Everything with him looks good. We got to see him for a long time on US, saw him moving in 3D (4D) which was pretty cool. We were relieved to see his heart and brain and spine all normal. The IUD is in the same place, a picture of it is above the picture of the baby. The IUD is the horizontal white line above the black cavity (amniotic fluid). In some frames, it is right near his head and in others it is just near fluid. We got to see the IUD in 3D too which was totally weird. We got the thumbs up from the doctor again, saying we don't have to come back for 3 more weeks. The only other thing now is that the placenta is inferior to the baby which can be a concern. There's a good chance that it will move, but if it doesn't, we will have to have a c-section. If that happens, it will be so difficult for me to accept and deal with, but i'm trying not to worry about it. I asked the dr. when I'll get more energy and won't be so tired. He said i wont! He said with having a toddler, i won't see any relief in this area...I am exhausted. As i speak, today Mirabel wrote all over my parent's leather couch with a pen... i got if off, i can't believe it. She's into Noah's things, she's all over the place. She's too smart and so fresh and i have to chase her and struggle with her to change her diaper and carry her up the stairs. She is climbing out of her crib at naptime and is resisting all naps, yet she is so tired and grouchy. I sprouted some gray hairs today. My business is picking up, there is more to do, and my job doing overnights is coming to an end soon. I just can't afford to lose any sleep since my "normal" sleep isn't great either. My mood fluctuates between horrible to great on any given day, which is what to expect i guess from the winter, pregnancy, and no exercise.
Greg is still working really hard and long, but not as long hours as before. It's so nice to have the extra time with him. He is thrilled to be having a boy. It will be good for Noah too. We say there's room for only one little Mirabel in this family, her presence is so big and sassy and smug. I can't believe we are going to go through toddler-hood all over again...

Alia and Greg,
Hang in there - this baby is determined to come to you both! He is beautiful even in the womb. Alia, I love you and pray for you each night.
so exciting, you guys! we can't wait to meet this one. stay healthy -- we're thinking of you lots. and PS Mirabel and Marigny are definitely related. Marigny drew on our sofa with a pen at 7 months! we can't get a diaper on her, or get her to take naps, either. it's been a roller coaster ride, and she's only 11 months. I'm looking way forward to when she goes to school.
